When thinking of the history of Typography,
the first thing that comes to mind is the use of Helvetica with in the Boston train system. I wanted to make a themed typography book utilizing the colors and various routes with in the Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority. To incorporate something different, I utilized a version of a Japanese style stab-stich binding to go with the various train lines in Boston. I also incorporated my own photographs from riding the train every day. Throughout this project, I learned to appreciate the benefits of prototyping multiple times to perfect the overall craft & book binding. In the end, all the effort paid off because not only was I satis ed by the results, but it ended up being one of my favorite projects.
