Problem Statement

How might we help animals with birth defects find forever homes by providing a seamless, informative, and trustworthy platform that helps them get adopted?

Current
Experience

Upon entering The Mia Foundation's website, users may perceive an initial sense of incompleteness. The homepage greets visitors with a minimalist design, featuring sparse content and a seemingly understated donate button that lacks compelling encouragement. Notably, the navigation bar at the bottom of the page, while present, may easily escape notice.

A journey through the various pages reveals a lack of clear organization in the site map, contributing to an overall sense of inconsistency. Navigational patterns may vary between sections, and the absence of a cohesive visual theme may impact the user's ability to establish a seamless connection between different pages.

In summary, the current user experience suggests an opportunity for enhancement in terms of visual engagement, content organization, and navigational clarity. A more cohesive design and intuitive structure could significantly improve user interaction and contribute to a more positive and fulfilling experience on The Mia Foundation's website.

Competitive
Analysis

In our pursuit of optimizing The Mia Foundation's website, we undertook a comprehensive competitor analysis, strategically examining both direct and indirect competitors. Our focus spanned other adoption shelters in upstate New York, alongside shelters with a specialization in dogs with special needs, similar to the mission of The Mia Foundation.

By exploring the digital landscapes of these entities, we aimed to discern effective strategies, identify potential pitfalls, and distill key takeaways for the enhancement of our project. This holistic approach allowed us to draw valuable insights from a variety of sources, offering a nuanced perspective on industry trends, user expectations, and innovative practices.

Site Map

After conducting a thorough analysis of both direct and indirect competitors, we turned our attention to The Mia Foundation's existing site map. Recognizing the need for a more intuitive and streamlined user experience, we undertook the task of remapping the site to ensure clarity and simplicity.

The revamped site map reflects a strategic reorganization, prioritizing essential user pathways and content hierarchies. By decluttering and simplifying the navigation flow, we aim to enhance the overall user journey, making it more seamless and user-friendly.
